One such group is the Merredin Craft Group, which operates from the Church of Christ hall in Throssell Road each Wednesday.

The group intends to host a biggest morning tea on May 21 from 9.30am and asks people to bring and buy anything to help raise money.

Group organiser Ann Lambert said the “bring and buy” morning tea will be open to everyone and people will be asked to give a gold coin donation for their morning tea.

In addition, there will be craft making displays, finished craft displays and a chance to meet some of the 16 members of the group.

Group members pay $2 a week for their materials and say they enjoy the friendship and chance to meet people while making their crafts.

Other projects taken on by the craft group include making blankets and beanies for Princess Margaret Hospital and the Motor Neuron Disease foundation.

Teddy bears made in various football teams’ colours are also made for fundraising activities.
