Garden open for charity

24 Sep, 2009 11:49 AM
Merredin couple Frank and Leslie Hendriks will open their garden to the public this month to raise money for charity.

Mr and Mrs Hendriks bought the old drive-in theatre site and have developed the surrounds into a picturesque and relaxing area.

Each year the Hendriks open their garden to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service by charging a $5 entry fee.

Since they began opening their garden in 1999, they have raised nearly $20,000 for the service.

The garden is located on South Avenue in Merredin and will be sign posted on September 26, 27 and 28 and October 3 and 4.

The garden is open from 9am to 5pm each day.

Devonshire teas are available to be purchased each day and enjoyed among the brilliant flowering plants and waterfalls in the garden.

The gardens are used as a picturesque setting for weddings and are an ideal backdrop for photography.
