BASKETBALL is back in full swing after the Christmas break albeit with a little confusion over game times.

As the indoor courts are being resurfaced all games will be played outside until this is completed, so make sure teams check the fixtures.

On Thursday night, in the under 16 girls, Black 56 had a very comfortable win over Blue 9. Best players were L Green, A Sliver and M Brown.

Yellow 26 defeated White 10 and the best players were A Ryan, E Drakeford and J Dayman. Green 48 defeated Red 21 and the best players were M Penn, K Hendriks and K Adamson.

The under 16 boys games were not as one-sided as the girls, with Black 29 defeating Blue 22.

Blue 35 defeated Black 15.

In the under 12 girls, there was a double forfeit between White and Yellow.

Junior basketball really needs some new players in the under 12 girls division and has encouraged all girls to drag along their friends to play basketball.

Best players were B Little, K Richards and C Walsh.

Grey 27 defeated Black 12 and the best players were S Caridi, K Flanagan and S Ryan.

This weekend sees the first of the country week teams competing in Perth.

The under 18 boys and the under 16 boys with be first off the rank.

The Junior Basketball Association wishes them good luck and all the best.

The association is currently running a raffle to help pay for the huge costs for sending the players away.

There will be tickets sold outside the bakery on Saturday morning for great prizes from Retravision, so please support junior basketball and buy a ticket.
