LAST Thursday was the final women’s basketball game for the year in all grades of the seniors.
The women’s games saw mixed results but Kella finished this half of the season with a big win over Slamets 53 to 20.
Teagan Pascoe scored 29 points to get top votes along with Chelsea Doncon and Lea Arnold.
Fury recorded the upset of the round beating Burra 20 to 13 and Kat White, Louise Davies and Renee Manning all playing great games for their teams.
Benchwarmers are warming up in the latter half of the season and beat Patriots 34 to 12. Good players were Shae Browning, Kylie Howard and Kerryn Elliott.
The Jillaroo Vets took on the fancied Sonics and gave them a little bit of a scare at least till half time.
Sonics won this game 30 to 19 and better players were Judy Jefferys, Meg Romanelli and Sophie Alderton.
Sonics sit on top of the women’s ladder giving them a minor premiership.
Mystics played Sapphires and won this game 42 to 15 and Mickayla Penn, Jamie-Lee Walker and Kim Verbakel all played a good game getting votes.
Fusions played well to beat Suns in a close game 16 to 12.
Lauren Van Donegan, Sonya Snith and Tara Ryan were all best players on the night.
The women will now be graded into two divisions and team delegates will be emailed new fixtures to restart the season on February 2.
Men’s fixtures are still the same and all games commence in February.
The committee wished all the players and supporters a merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
