03 Feb, 2012 10:42 AM
AFL MASTERS in WA last week announced the recent appointment of long-time Burracoppin and Kalgoorlie player Cobber Rogers to the board of AFL Masters.

His appointment to the board is intended to provide representation at board level for the eastern regions of WA and his responsibilities in that regard will be to represent the board in those areas ranging through the eastern corridor from Perth to Kalgoorlie, Boulder, Kambalda and as far south as Esperance.

AFL Masters football is the fastest growing competition within the Australian Rules family in WA and provides the opportunity for players over 35 years of age to continue to play the game albeit at a less competitive level.

The game allows players to continue to play the game they love and to maintain a high level of health and fitness.

AFL Masters Clubs in WA frequently contribute with assistance to junior and amateur clubs particularly in country areas with many of our players assisting with the coaching and mentoring of junior players and also with contributions of their time to the running and management of those clubs.

AFL Masters has envisages Cobber Rogers’ expertise and knowledge of the game will be of great assistance to the WA board in the furtherance of AFL Masters throughout the eastern regions.
