LOCAL teenagers keen on a school holidays trip to Adventure World should speak up.
The trip is one of several exciting physical activities for all ages being planned at Merredin Regional Community and Leisure Centre in coming months.
Centre physical activity programs co-ordinator Jamie-Lee White said the success of the activities depends on numbers and she is calling for expressions of interest for the activities to go ahead.
Miss White said after numerous requests, she was planning a trip to Perth for teens aged 12 to 17 years during the summer school holidays.
“The trip will potentially include visits to places such as Adventure World, Laser Tag and Wet N Wild,” she said.
Miss White said due to popular demand, a dance workshop was also on the cards at the centre.
“A lot of people, especially youth, have expressed an interest in learning dance, but there are no dance teachers available in Merredin at the moment,” she said.
“So we would like to help the situation by inviting a professional hip-hop and jazz instructor to come down from Perth to conduct an all-ages dance workshop in the near future.”
She said she was also interested in starting a Heart Foundation walking group to benefit the Merredin community.
“Heart Foundation walking groups are run as a nation-wide program and we are looking to start our own right here in Merredin,” she said.
“Walking groups are a wonderful opportunity to stay physically active as well as keeping in touch with friends and even meeting new people.”
Anyone interested in participating in any of these activities or volunteering to help out is asked to place an expression of interest with the centre administration as soon as possible.
