Closing Day success for Merredin golf

The Merredin Men’s Golf Club conducted its closing day on the weekend with an ambrose event.

Winners of the event were the Good Old Collingwood team of Y Heinrich, G Crees, P Madigan and W Morris.

Runners up for the day included S Waterhouse, M Morris and A Koper.

Good scores were recorded by the teams of L Jones, B Alderton and K Cunningham, M Kudas, M Jacobson and D Western and the Postans Boys.

Novelties included the best shot on number three which was won by Good Old Collingwood, longest putt on number five which was won by Ben Heinrich, best second shot on number eight won by the Postans Boys, best third shot on number 15 won by Team Kings, nearest the pin on number 16 won by Good Old Collingwood and nearest the pin on number 18 won by D Western.

On September 4, the Co-operative Bulk Handling Group East Kwinana Zone conducted the annual CBH Day incorporating an Aglime combined day.

Winners of the event were father and son pair Trevor and David Thompson combined with Terry Anderson.

Runners up were Nick Thompson, Allan Walker and Craig Gault.

About 55 golfers from the Koorda, Corrigin and Merredin districts competed on the day in perfect weather condition.
