Cold conditions do not deter bowlers

20/11/2008 11:21:00 AM
ON SUNDAY during cold and blustery conditions the Civic bowlers played mixed pairs for the Merredin Electrics Trophy. It was pleasing to see a big field for this popular event.

The winners were Nessie Western and Daryl Anderson with Peter and Toni Madigan being runners up.

The club thanks Brian and Kay Bush for their continued support.

On Saturday the A grade men’s pennants team travelled to Narembeen and lost 1 ½ - 6½. B grade travelled to Corrigin and lost ½ - 5½.

The ladies continued their pennants on Wednesday. Civic Blue hosted Corrigin Gold and drew two all. Civic Maroon travelled to Shackleton and lost 1-3.

Next Wednesday there is a general bye for the ladies.

Friday nights are proving to be popular with a meal being served between 5pm and 7pm. Bowls starts at 7.30pm bowlers and non-bowlers are cordially invited.
