On Saturday in cold and blustery weather two games were played each of 12 ends and at the end of the day players sat down to a lovely roast meal organised by catering co-ordinator Alex Postans and his band of helpers.

On Sunday in much warmer conditions three games were played. Once again the weekend proved a great success.

Teams travelled from Boulder, Kalgoorlie, Halls Head, Cunderdin, Dowerin, Bolgart, Koorda, Wyalkatchem, Nungarin, Kellerberrin and many from the South Eastern League.

The club would like to thank all the sponsors that continue to support this popular event.

There were plenty of raffles on which players could spend their money.

The winners of the bowls and the only team with five wins was a composite team of Noeline Abe from Corrigin, Eileen O’Connell and Anne Sudholz from Nungarin and Gwen Hobson from Merredin Civic.

Second place was a team from Dowerin consisting of L Featherby, H Mercer, L Jones and H Shemeld.

Third place went to a Civic team of H Hutton, W Postans, D Williamson and A Wallace.

Fourth place was Civic team of K Bush, D Heinrich, N Henderson and J Young and fifth place another Civic team of M Johnston, E Lane, M Krone and S Atkins.

Saturday winners were D McClelland, H Moylan, B Johnson and B Cox of Kellerberrin. Sunday winners were a Bolgart team skippered by D McGill.

The men continued their pennants on Saturday with A Grade playing at the Merredin Club and lost 1-7. B Grade travelled to Bruce Rock to play Shackleton and lost 1-5.

The ladies continued their pennants with Civic Blue hosting Westonia and won 4-0.

Civic Gold travelled to Narembeen to play their Maroon team and had a 4-0 win.

Friday night meals will start again on November 6 and there will also be a game of bowls that night. Melbourne Cup Day on November 3 starting at 10.30am. Bowls, lunch and more bowls after lunch.
