The State Junior Sand Greens Championship was hosted by the Kellerberrin Junior Golf Club on September 19 and 20.
There were 38 entries on the weekend ranging from the Tiger Cubs through to the State Championship events in the 36 hole event.
Country players travelled from Kalgoorlie, Moora, Mandurah, Bakers Hill and the Kellerberrin Junior Club.
The Open Championship had many of the State juniors in action, drawing entries from Joondalup, Hartfield, Royal Perth, Mandurah Country Club, Wembley, and Gosnells Golf Clubs.
The course was beautifully presented by the course committee under the guidance of David Lamplugh, who worked tirelessly on both days to have all greens ready for each day’s play.
Thanks to Noel Lawrence and the senior golf club for their support and help on the weekend, from catering to starting and the great support to the talented group of players.
The 36 hole Boys’ Championship event was won by Luke Turner from Hartfield Country Club with a score of 70,71. The runner up was Ben Kemp from the Mandurah Country Club with 74, 74.
The 36 hole Girls’ Championship event was won by Kelsey Ware from Kellerberrin with a score of 107,109 and the runner up was Jemma Goss, from Hannans Golf Club on 110, 108.
The 18 hole winner was Jed Shepherd from Kellerberrin on 97 and the runner up was Scott Pengel also from Kellerberrin on 109.
The nine holes Tiger Tees was won by Jake McClelland from Kellerberrin on 43 and the runner up was Caleb McDonald also from Kellerberrin on 60.
The nine holes Tiger Cubs winner was Amy Attwood from Bakers Hill on 45 and the runner up was Owen McClelland from Kellerberrin on 47.
