Nungarin undefeated after third cricket round

ROUND two and three of cricket over the last two weekends have seen some exciting results with Nungarin emerging the favourites after winning their third game for the season.

Nukarni are also undefeated, although they had a bye on the weekend, and Bruce Rock-Shackleton-Ardath are close behind with two wins so far.

In round two, a close game was played in Bruce Rock between Bruce Rock/Shackleton/Ardath 7 for 166 against Babakin/Corrigin 8 for 165.

Outstanding players for BRSA were M Griffiths with 40 runs, P Jones with 39 not out, R D Crombie 3 for 21 and S Bolt 2 for 37. Babakin/Corrigin noted players were S Bolt with 67 runs, T Elsegood 21 runs, J Lynn 4 for 21 and M Griffiths 1 for 8.

In Nungarin, fine play was on display by Nungarin/Nokaning who won their game 5 for 165 against Narembeen 7 for 160.

Outstanding players for Nungarin/Nokaning were D Bielkin with 53 runs, W Morris 52 runs, W Hooper 2 for 29 and G Vaughan 2 for 39.

Narembeen notable players were C Butler with 75 runs, N. Cheetham 28 runs, G Maynard 2 for 22 and J Morris 2 for 15.

In Merredin, sweet victory for Nukarni, 9 for 174 over Kondinin, 10 for 82.

Outstanding players for Nukarni were P Gray with 45 runs, R Meldrum with 33 runs, A Young 3 for 33 and N Jones 1 for 7. Strong players for Kondinin were J West with 28 not out, M Whitely 13 runs, C Last 3 for 20 and M Sharp 2 for 10.

CCC’s had the bye.

In round three on Saturday, Babakin-Corrigin 8-190 defeated Kondinin 10-181. Great players from Babakin- Corrigin were T Elsegood with 77 not out, G Connelly with 41 runs, A Repacholi 3 for 32, and N Jones 2 for

41.

Kondinin outstanding players were N Jones 71 not out, T Bradford 25 runs, R D Crombie 4 for 49 and T Elsegood 4 for 20.

BRSA met their match in Nungarin on Saturday, defeated 8-217 against Nungarin/Nokaning on 4-227.

Outstanding players for Nungarin were A Coumbe 67 runs, D Bilkin 67 not out, J Boow 2 for 46 and M Griffiths 2 for 34.

Strong players for BRSA were S Sedgwick 46 runs, P Jones 42, G Maynard 3 for 58 and J Morris 2 for 26.

In Narembeen, the home team 6-170 defeated CCC’s on 10-161. Narembeen outstanding players were M Currie 93 not out, S Yandle 38 runs, M Major 2 for 28 and A Walker 1 for 29. CCC’S great effort by P Alvaro 37 runs, J Alvaro 31 runs, B Hunter 3 for 32 and C Duncan 2 for 32.

Nukarni had the bye.
