FOR those who love triathlons, running, cycling, swimming or a little motor sport there are plenty of events coming up in the Wheatbelt in the next few months.

The Kondinin Fun Run will be held at the Kondinin Sports Pavilion on Saturday, March 6 from 9am.

There will be an open individuals category of 10km, under 12s category 2km and the all-ages fun run/walk of 5km.

There is also a team category for teams of four to run 10km each, while the best average time wins a cash prize.

Registration is $10 per person and/or $50 per team while the fun run/walk is $5 per person.

To register or for more information contact the Kondinin Shire on 9889 1006 or cdo@kondinin.wa.gov.au.

In Dowerin, the Be Active Triathlon is being held on Sunday, March 21, meeting at 8am for a 8.30am start at the Dowerin Memorial Pool.

Events consist of the fun course (200m swim, 6km cycle and 1.5km run) or the sprint course (400m swim, 9km cycle and 3km run).

Those interested can register as a team of three in either male, female or mixed categories in each age group or as an individual.

Registrations close on Wednesday, March 17.

All community members are invited to form a team of four riders and one support person to take part in this relay, in which teams will cycle from Beacon to Bencubbin to celebrate the area’s history.

Organisers said this would be a great way for participants to improve their fitness by riding 10 or 12km each to get ready for the winter sports season.

There will be cash prizes.

The Narembeen Triathlon will be held on Sunday, March 28 from 7am to about 11am.

It is open to juniors, adults and super vets and can be completed either by teams or individuals.

Juniors (under 16 years) will complete a 50m swim, a 2km bike ride and a 500m run.
