SEVERAL Wheatbelt 16s players were selected to play in the Co-operative Bulk Handling Colts team which played the WA State 16s at Fremantle Oval on Friday night.
Wheatbelt representatives in the WA CBH Country Colts team included Tyler Jefferys from Burracoppin and Guy Bormellina from Narembeen as well as Glenn Smith, Steel Martin and Cameron Lawler from Northam Federals,.
The Friday night game was the second contest this season for the CBH Colts following their narrow four-point loss to the West Australian Amateur Football League Colts in a thrilling finish at Fremantle Oval in May.
Friday’s game, which kicked off at 5.30pm, was an opportunity for the State 16s to ramp up preparations ahead of next month’s NAB AFL 16s Championships in Sydney.
The championships will be played from July 4 to 11 as the first event held at the new $40m sporting and football complex in Blacktown.
WA CBH Country Colts were defeated by the WA State 16’s, 11.13 (79) to 7.10 (52).
