A GROUP of keen bowlers braved the 36 degree Celsius heat on Wednesday afternoon to play a round of mixed social bowls at the Civic Bowling Club.
The game may be sociable but players still retain their competitive streak in bowls.
The winners were Wendy Postans, Ian Gillespie and Lou de Leuw and the runners-up were Lorraine Pell, Bev Drakeford and Maurice Lane.
Wednesday mixed social bowls will continue this week and new players are welcome.
Names need to be in by 1.30pm and the game starts at about 2pm.
