THE bowlers of the Civic Bowling Club had a busy weekend starting with Saturday and men starting their pennants since the Christmas break.
Civic Gold hosted Narembeen Maroon and 6.5-1.5 and Civic Blue hosted Yilgarn and won 8-0.
Eight of the Civic lady bowlers represented the South Eastern League team in the Inter League Round Robin at the Merredin Club over the weekend.
The South Eastern League won the event with eight points, the runners-up were Avon with six points, third place went to Central Wheatbelt with four points, East Avon came in fourth with two points and fifth place went to Goldfields.
Some great bowls were witnessed and all players were congratulated on their sportsmanship.
Congratulations to Kay Bush, Norma Henderson, Helen Hutton, Bev Drakeford, Toni Madigan and Debbie Heinrich on being chosen for the zone team to compete in the Inter Zone Round Robin at Wagin in April.
Social mixed bowls were also held last Sunday in very windy conditions.
The winners were Eric Robertson, Gail Lane and Margaret Johnston and the runners-up were Lorraine Pell, Maurice Lane and Syd Crees.
