THE Merredin Junior Fire and Rescue Team travelled to Mandurah for their first competition for the season on October 14.
Nine Junior Brigades (making up 12 separate teams) including Armadale, Bunbury, Mandurah, Harvey, Brunswick Junction, Bassendean, Guildford, Geraldton and Merredin competed in both dry and wet work events.
The team consisted of Dylan Sandercock, Sean Sandercock, Charles Hasson and Cheyenne Sandercock in the under 14 team and Tarlisha O’Donnell competed in the under 17 division.
The under 14 team came third place overall with Bassendean and Harvey taking out first and second place.
The results by the team included:
One person events - Two second places and one fourth place.
Two person events - One second place and one third place.
Four person events - One second place, one third place, one fourth place and two fifth places.
In the overall points for champion fire-fighter, Sean Sandercock took out runner-up and Dylan Sandercock took out third place.
Merredin will be holding a two day competition on October 27 and 28 starting at 2pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
